Women’s Self Defense Course

Women’s Self Defense Course (adults and teens) on Saturday, November 30th from 6:30 – 9:30 pm in our Community Hall.

“Learn to protect yourself in a realistic way. Our program is like no other self-defense course taught to the public. Using our background and experience, we will combine what in our opinion is the most applicable material and pass it in the most efficient way onto our students. The classes are fun and eye opening with empowering material taught in an enjoyable way.
This is not a program that requires you to be an athlete for it to work, nor is it based on sport arenas or winning trophies.”

If you have further questions or want to book yourself in, please contact Tamara at programs@burnewood.ca or 780-777-8184.

Registration cost is $20, and the remainder of your fee is funded by the Burnewood Community League.
There are limited spots available, so don’t wait and register with Tamara soon!

YEGYouth Halloween Event

Message from the City of Edm, Youth Program Coordinator…
At this event, we will be bringing in a professional makeup artist to teach the teens how to create a couple of different ‘looks’ for Halloween. We will also have a costume-making station where there will be supplies to make several different costumes mainly from ideas commonly found on Pinterest. There will be pizza served for dinner and we hope to cap off the night with a campfire, complete with s ‘mores.

When: Sunday, October 27, 2019
Time: 3:30 – 7:30 pm
Where: Alfred H. Savage Centre

This event will be for youth ages 13 – 17 and will be free.
